I purchased this alarm for the mobile phone control functionality and it is superb ! I installed it over the weekend taking my time and making sure I read through the instructions. In summary, I fitted 4 x wireless PIR's, 1 door sensor and paired up all of the 4 x fobs and the panic alarm within a few hours. I didn't need to use the additional 3 door/window sensors, but I did fit one of the wireless PIR's in my shed and it works superbly without any cables and with the shed a distance of about 15 metres from the control box in the house ! The installation is really very simple:1) Buy a PAYG SIM card, register it and put some credit on it.2) Fit the SIM card, power on the control panel and send it text message(s) with your own mobile number so it will text you or ring you if the alarm is triggered.3) Attach the batteries to the 4 x supplied PIR's and then simply switch the control panel off/on and it then pairs itself with the PIR's - no other connection/set up required for the PIR's.4) Connect the claxon/siren (it comes with a remote controlled one and a hard wired one) - I just used the hard wired one which took all of 2 minutes to connect and test and boy it's loud !!5) If you use the window/door sensors, simply place them side by side then pull them apart to trigger an alert after powering the control panel off/on once more and it pairs them (ie. it knows that they are part of your security setup from that point on). Then simply stick (double sided tape) or screw the two small sensors to your door/doorframe or window/windowframe and you're all set.Now, if someone opens my shed door, or opens the back door or if there is any movement detected in the house, the alarm sounds, I receive a text message. If I don't respond, the alarm tries to ring my mobile phone and my wife receives a text from the alarm. I can then ring a neighbour or the police and if it's a false alarm, I can disable then re-enable it remotely therefore preventing lots of nuisance noise for the neighbours.Highly recommended and a bargain price !!

I have just purchased this, primarily for the GPS Autodialler, and am very impressed with its quality and ease of operation. It only took 5 minutes to pair the 4 PIR's, 4 door contacts and 4 remotes!!....... However, the manual does say that the controller can accomodate "wired PIR's" but beware, the unit does not provide a 12 volt output to drive them. One other point, if you purchase the external siren, the internal battery backup is not of sufficient capacity to drive the siren in the event of a power cut - the power is used by the autodialler to phone / text you!!Setting the above aside, the wireless detectors are simple to install and the unit operates exactly as it says. It is well worth the money!

The extended kit has a control box, 4 control fobs, 4 door reed switches, 4 PIR sensors, a smoke detector and a mains powered outdoor siren with a tamper switch. Put your SIM in the tray at the back of the control box and switch on. You get 20 secs to 'pair' each remote unit before the control box drops into alarm mode, so it takes a while and a lot of switching on and off to get the whole lot paired and installed. You send control SMS messages to tell the control box your numbers for alarm messages, and to select the functions you prefer. Can take several dozen texts to get it exactly how you want it, so it helps if you have free texting on your mobileIt is vitally important to use a SIM belonging to a network with good coverage in your area, otherwise alarm messages will be delayed and the setting-up process will be horribly frustrating. PAYG is fine, you don't need a contract. I used a giffgaff SIM (O2 network) [...] which worked well for me.The system works well. I've marked it down to 4 stars because the instructions though comprehensive are not in perfect English, One of the diagrams was wrong and needed an email to sort (quickly answered with advice that worked), Also, to pair all the sensors the control box battery back-up has to be off, while for the unit to work properly in alarm mode the back-up battery has to be on. The instructions don't mention this, or say how to do it, though it's pretty obvious once you catch-on. Inconspicuous switch on the back of the control unit.The sounder has a 12v 0,5 amp separate supply (a small switched mains power supply is included), and is actuated by a wireless signal from the control box. It has no backup battery.The control box sends alarm SMS messages fine, but the phone voice function on my system just transmits noise and clutters voicemail. Best turned off. Could be a pain if you wanted to send alarm messages to a non-SMS phone. Not recommended for that at all.The syntax for SMS control messages is [password]#[function ID]#[command] and practically every function can be controlled remotely in this way.The password of up to 6 characters can be set by the user. Default is '123456'
